LIMA, Peru, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Compania de Minas Buenaventura S.A.A. ("Buenaventura") (NYSE: BVN; Lima Stock Exchange: BUE.LM), Peru's largest publicly traded precious metals mining company, announced that at a Shareholders' Meeting held today, the Board of Directors was authorized to proceed with an issuance of unsecured notes, in an amount not to exceed US$350 million, and was empowered to set the final conditions of the issuance.
Buenaventura's Board of Directors has made no determination as to when any offering of notes will be conducted or as to the possible aggregate amount, terms and conditions of any notes to be offered or, given market conditions, if any notes offering will be conducted at all.

Compania de Minas Buenaventura S.A.A. is Peru's largest, publicly-traded precious metals company and a major holder of mining rights in Peru. The Company is engaged in the mining, processing, development and exploration of gold and silver and other metals via wholly-owned mines as well as through its participation in joint exploration projects.
