NEW YORK, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NYMAGIC, INC. NYMAGIC announces results of hedge fund investments for October, 2008.
NYMAGIC reported today that the company's hedge fund losses for the month of October, 2008 closely approximated the estimate furnished in its press release dated November 4, 2008. Based on reports of net asset values from all but one of its hedge funds at October 31, 2008, NYMAGIC incurred hedge fund losses of approximately $6.1 million for the month. The company has an investment balance of approximately $0.5 million in the non-reporting hedge fund, which is currently winding down.
NYMAGIC expects to provide an update on November investment results on or about December 18, 2008.
