McGraw-Hill Broadcasting Names Byron F. Grandy VP and GM of KMGH, Denver

DENVER, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- McGraw-Hill Broadcasting, a unit of The McGraw-Hill Companies, today announced the appointment of Byron F. Grandy as vice president and general manager of KMGH - Denver's 7, the ABC-affiliate station in Denver, and its Spanish-language Azteca America affiliates in Denver and Colorado Springs. In this position, Mr. Grandy is responsible for setting the station's strategic direction, and for overseeing KMGH's sales, operations and program content, as well as the operations of Azteca America Colorado and the station's digital properties.

"Since his appointment as station manager last year, Byron has taken over the day-to-day leadership responsibilities of our Denver operations, which delivered strong audience and financial growth in 2008. Byron is customer focused and deploys both traditional and new technologies to strengthen our ties with viewers and advertisers so that we can serve them better. With this expansion of his responsibilities, Byron is poised to further drive KMGH's efforts to meet our customers' evolving media needs," said Darrell K. Brown, president of McGraw-Hill Broadcasting.

Mr. Grandy, 47, was named station manager of KMGH in July 2008. He joined McGraw-Hill Broadcasting as news director of Denver's 7 in December 2000. During his tenure, Denver's 7 News has been honored with the prestigious George F. Peabody and Alfred I. DuPont awards for excellence in journalism along with recognition from the Associated Press, the Heartland Regional Emmys and Colorado Broadcasters Association.

Prior to joining KMGH, Mr. Grandy was news director at KMOL-TV in San Antonio. He also served as director of news and talent development for The Broadcast Image Group, a broadcast consulting firm, and was the news director position at WAGT-TV in Augusta, GA. He has also worked as a reporter and anchor at stations in Milwaukee, Dallas and Bryan, TX.

Mr. Grandy holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX.
