OMAHA, Neb., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Valmont Industries, Inc. , announced that it has appointed Ambassador Clark T. Randt, Jr. to its Board of Directors.

Ambassador Randt recently retired as U.S. Ambassador to the People's Republic of China, having served from July 2001 until January 2009. Ambassador Randt is fluent in Chinese Mandarin and has lived and worked in China for more than 30 years. He is a member of the New York and Hong Kong bars and is a recognized expert on Chinese law.
Commenting on the appointment, Mogens C. Bay, Valmont's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer said, "I am very pleased to welcome Ambassador Randt to Valmont's Board. His vast experience in Asia will be invaluable to Valmont as we continue to grow in that region.
