The Design Process
"Our research began by exploring the natural world," continued O'Brien. "This led us to the rediscovery of phi - the 'golden proportion' - and the mathematics of the Fibonacci series."
The phi ratio appears repeatedly throughout nature in the structure of plants, animals, hurricanes and even spiral galaxies and is associated with growth, health and beauty. For centuries, architects and artists have understood and used phi for thoughtful design inspiration.
Moen utilized this insight to create the most ideal, "naturally efficient" spray coverage possible, embedding the mathematics of Phi in the gracefully patterned curves of nozzles on the showerheads. These specific patterns can create a surprisingly full shower experience.
An "Inspired" Product
The result of this research is Moen's elegant Inspire line of showerheads, featuring up to seven-setting showerheads and a nine-inch rainshower showerhead. Each showerhead features Fibonacci-inspired, spiral-shaped nozzle patterns to provide full body coverage that envelops the user in invigorating water sprays no matter what the spray setting.
