Once downloaded onto a desktop PC, CounterPath's X-Lite software enables people to make voice and video calls, send and receive Instant Messages and see the availability of their contacts as well as manage their own availability status. Since its launch in 2006, X-Lite 3.0 has gained increasing recognition as the world's favorite free softphone due to its rich feature list and ease of use.
Today, people looking to take the softphone experience for a test drive can download X-Lite 3.0 for free from the CounterPath website and connect it to a VoIP subscription service to start making calls immediately.
