Mohawk Industries, Inc. (NYSE: MHK) today announced that it has filed a universal shelf registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission to replace its previous shelf registration statement, which expired on January 9, 2009. The new statement is effective for three years and provides flexibility for the issuance of equity, debt or other types of securities through one or more methods of distribution. The terms of any future offering would be established at the time of offering subject to market conditions.
Although the Company has no immediate plans to issue any securities, it is the Company's policy to maintain an effective shelf registration statement to ensure financing flexibility should the need arise.
