As stated by President Jehuda Reinharz and Provost Marty Krauss in a meeting with the Faculty Senate last week, the Rose Art Museum will remain open with a desired goal of being more fully integrated into the University's core educational mission. What precise role the Museum will have will be informed by the recommendations of the Rose Committee to the Brandeis Board of Trustees.
The Rose Committee, chaired by Professor Jerry Samet, has representation from the students, faculty, alumni, and the Board of Trustees, along with representatives of both the Rose Art Museum and its Board of Overseers. These members, chosen in consultation with their respective constituencies, reflects the University’s commitment to come together as a community to engage in an open and public process to discuss the future vision of the museum within the larger context of the mission of Brandeis University. The first meeting of the committee will be Thursday, March 19th.
The following individuals have graciously agreed to serve on the committee:
- Professor Jerry Samet
- Stephen Reiner, member of the Brandeis University Board of Trustees
