Highlights
-- Advertising and other revenues reached R$283.8 million in 2008, an increase of 48% year-on-year.
-- The number of paying broadband subscribers reached 1.2 million in December 2008, an increase of 23% over December 2007.
-- In 2008, net income, excluding non-recurring items, grew 6% when compared to 2007.
-- EBITDA in 2008 totaled R$123.2 million, 20% down on 2007. EBITDA margin in 2008 was 21%, 8 p.p. down from 2007.
-- UOL's gross margin was 60% in 2008, a 1 p.p. rise over the 2007 margin.
-- In December, according to IBOPE//NetRatings, we recorded an 11% year-on-year increase in unique visitors.
-- We maintained our leadership in page views and time spent online among content portals in Brazil, with 1,640 million page views and the average time spent online being 1 hour, 8 minutes and 5 seconds in December 2008, according to IBOPE//NetRatings.
