SAN JOSE, Calif., April 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Micrel Inc., , an industry leader in analog, high bandwidth communications and Ethernet IC solutions, today announced that David Schie, Vice President of Analog Design and R&D, has been promoted to the position of Vice President, Analog Business Unit. Schie will also continue in his role heading up Analog Engineering. In his new role, Mr. Schie will have profit and loss responsibility for Micrel's Analog Business Unit. The Company's analog business accounts for more than two-thirds of the Company's revenues worldwide.

Mr. Schie joined Micrel in May, 2007. Before joining Micrel, Mr. Schie was an Executive Director at Maxim Integrated Products. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Supertex, Inc. Mr. Schie was a founder of various companies including the ESG group of companies and Linear Dimensions Semiconductor. Mr. Schie holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Engineering Science (Electrical Option) from the University of Toronto.
