"We are extremely pleased to welcome Dan as Chair of the NPASC," said John Engler, president of the NAM. "We believe that Dan's leadership, dedication and extensive experience will serve our organization well as we continue to express the vital role manufacturing can play in creating economic stability and growth for our country."

As the National Public Affairs Steering Committee Chair, Steen will help lead public and government affairs professionals at the nation's leading manufacturing companies in supporting NAM efforts, ranging from member involvement to congressional relationship building.

"In today's economic climate, the manufacturing sector must continue to make its voice heard on issues affecting member companies and their 13 million American workers and their families," said Steen.

The NAM is the nation's leading industry organization, advocating for manufacturing interests addressing key federal issues impacting manufacturing, including environmental, tax, legal and labor policies.

Steen has been active on the NPASC for the last 10 years, having served as the Ohio-Wisconsin Region Vice Chair of the NPASC and currently, as the chair of NAM's Key Vote Advisory Committee and Legal Issues Policy Committee.

In addition to his involvement in the National Association of Manufacturers, Steen also serves as chairman of the Glass Packaging Institute's Legislative Committee.
