Honeywell LifeStream Products Improve Patient Care by Offering Greater Access to Web-Based Health Information / Honeywell HomMed LifeStream Connect and LifeStream View improve workflow and productivity while reducing costs

BROOKFIELD, Wis., April 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Honeywell HomMed, a world leader in telehealth and remote patient care, today announced LifeStream Connect and LifeStream View as two new offerings in the Honeywell LifeStream Telehealth Ecosystem. The new products will further increase the benefits of telehealth monitoring to patients and healthcare providers by providing greater access to health information, enhancing efficiency and improving patient care.

"Honeywell HomMed takes pride in offering the next step in remote patient care through our LifeStream system," said Terry Duesterhoeft, president of Honeywell HomMed. "The new LifeStream Connect and LifeStream View facilitate clinical excellence through Web-based technology, improving patient care and outcomes by keeping physicians, patients and their families better informed of patients' health."

LifeStream Connect is a suite of interfaces that seamlessly integrates critical electronic medical record (EMR) and other point-of-care applications in a single platform. With LifeStream Connect, clinicians can use a unified application for patient monitoring and no longer have to switch between disparate systems. Honeywell HomMed offers more interface options than any other player in the telehealth industry, which allows care providers to improve their workflow and productivity while reducing costs.

"LifeStream Connect eliminates manual and duplicate data entry, which improves the quality and accuracy of clinical care," said Duesterhoeft. "Clinicians have immediate access to patient information and complete healthcare records, enabling them to make quick and informed decisions regarding patient health."

LifeStream View allows patients, families and healthcare providers easy, secure access to patient information via the Internet, enabling more active and convenient participation in patient care.

"With LifeStream View, clinicians can securely monitor patients from any Web-based browser," said Duesterhoeft. "They no longer have to be in the office but can access crucial information from their laptops at any time, allowing them to stay more informed of their patients' status and respond more quickly to any changes in a patient's condition."

Patients and their families can also use LifeStream View to securely access and track patient information in real time and identify developing health trends. The information is conveniently organized into tabs and graphs that patients can export to share with their physicians. The ability to instantly and easily see both symptom status and critical biometric information, such as weight and blood pressure, encourages patients to take an active role in their health. Families, especially those living far away from parents or relatives, gain peace of mind from being able to check in on their loved one's health status.

LifeStream Connect and LifeStream View benefit patients, insurers, home healthcare agencies, physicians and hospitals. The products are components of the LifeStream Telehealth Ecosystem, a comprehensive platform launched by Honeywell HomMed in October 2007, which includes the award-winning Genesis(R) DM telehealth monitor that tracks both symptoms and vital biometric information from patients at home and transmits it to healthcare providers for monitoring.
