EMB, a global property and casualty (P&C) consulting firm, today announced that Tom Hettinger, managing director of EMB in North America, will moderate a general session, “Modeling Lessons Learned” on predictive modeling and enterprise risk management (ERM) at the ERM Symposium on Thursday, April 30, 2009 in Chicago, Illinois.
Experts on the panel will discuss the theme of risk management under increased scrutiny and criticism as a result of the current turmoil in the financial markets. Finding ways to effectively manage risk for insurance and financial firms can be a challenge for risk management professionals. This session will address general concerns and offer ways to improve the modeling for effective use within ERM strategies. Panelists will not only discuss the lessons learned from recent events, but also modeling lessons risk professionals at insurance and financial firms may be able to learn from other industries.
This session is one of four general sessions at the ERM Symposium focused on educating senior management with the tools to build a strong cross-disciplinary ERM framework. At the 7th annual ERM Symposium, participants will explore new ERM strategies to create systematic value and competitive advantage through effective risk and capital management.
