Liberty Acquisition Holdings Corp. (NYSE Amex:LIA) (LIA, LIA.U, LIA.WS) (the “Company”) announced today that it has received a letter from NYSE Amex LLC (the “Exchange”), indicating that the Exchange has completed its review of the Company’s plan to regain compliance with Section 704 of the NYSE Amex Company Guide (the “Company Guide”) by holding an annual meeting of its stockholders as promptly as practicable, but in no event later than August 11, 2009. The Exchange further indicated in its letter that it has determined that the plan makes a reasonable demonstration of the Company’s ability to regain compliance with Section 704 of the Company Guide, and granted the Company an extension until August 11, 2009 to regain compliance with the continued listing standards of the Exchange. As previously announced, on February 12, 2009, the Company received a letter from the Exchange indicating that it was not in compliance with Section 704 of the Company Guide, for failure to hold an annual meeting of stockholders during 2008. The Company’s annual meeting of stockholders is scheduled to be held on May 15, 2009. The Company expects that upon holding its annual meeting of stockholders it will regain compliance with the continued listing standards of the Exchange.
