Global Law Firm Greenberg & Traurig Will Discuss New IRS Tax Rulings and How They Relate to Life Settlement Investments
The International Society of Life Settlement Professionals (ISLSP) will host an informative webinar on Thursday, May 14 at 11 a.m. ET to introduce to investors the industry’s first risk assessment methodology. UK Integrity Group Ltd., a specialist services firm in the UK known for its excellence, quality and expertise, designed the risk assessment methodology which has been approved by ISLSP founder Andreas Hauss. As part of the risk alert webinar, Mark Leeds, shareholder at global law firm Greenberg & Traurig, will discuss how new IRS guidance on life settlement transactions should affect Life Settlement investors’ risk analysis.
“This is crucial, time-sensitive information for Life Settlement investors,” said George Polzer, Executive Director of ISLSP. “There are potential risks and traps in Life Settlement investments. Our webinar will educate the investors and help them truly understand how IRS rules 13 and 14 will affect their investments, and will outline professional risk assessment.”
The webinar is timely as it falls between two important events in the Life Settlement industry. The Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA) recently held its spring conference in New York and DealFlow Media’s International Life Settlements Conference will take place in London next week. Participating in ISLSP’s webinar on May 14th will provide investors with advanced, in-depth understanding for proper selection of high-level Life Settlement opportunities.
ISLSP offers monthly webinars which are open to Life Settlement professionals and investors, providing up-to-date investor-oriented education support and networking opportunities at the highest level. Life Settlement investments are not linked to equity or credit markets and are able to offer a safe haven against volatility while providing smooth predictable returns. Providing education, increasing transparency and providing the industry with a think tank for the development and deployment of standards-based Dynamic Risk Assessment protocols, ISLSP ensures investors have the tools to make objective decisions, and more investment capital will be attracted into this asset class.
