CONCERNS OVER GLOBAL SPREAD OF H1N1 INFLUENZA OR SWINE FLU ACCELERATE THE PRE-PRODUCTION RUN ON A.I.R. ISOLATION AND CONTAINMENT UNITS
American Innovative Research Corporation (A.I.R. Corp.) announces plans to accelerate the pre-production development of their Isolation and Containment units (I-Con™). According to A.I.R. company officials, when you’re facing a pandemic, prevention is as important as a cure and David Palmer, CEO and co-founder of the three-year-old Andover, Massachusetts company states - “The I-Con™ is a portable air purification and sterilization system, the size of a home air conditioning unit, that will inhibit the spread of airborne infectious diseases such as the H1N1 influenza or swine flu.”
“An I-Con™ creates the same air flow patterns in a home that are used in both hospitals and biological research facilities, ” emphasizes Palmer, and A.I.R. co-founder and COO Judith Piscione explains, “The public is very aware of the latest CDC advisories, and there’s an increased understanding of the role that isolation and containment play in controlling the spread of airborne infectious diseases. ” Piscione points out that “Informed consumers will demand to have access to technology that can help them protect the health of their family by turning any room in their home into a safe room, with the option of selecting isolation or containment.”
Palmer states that he and Piscione have leveraged three decades of industrial clean room technology and years of experience in biomedical research to offer a scientifically based answer to that crucial question - Is there anything I can do to protect my family during a pandemic? According to Palmer, most semiconductor clean rooms are even cleaner than hospital operating rooms. Palmer summarizes, “That same demanding semiconductor clean room technology is the backbone of the I-Con ™.”
Piscione says the I-Con™ is also designed to protect patients recovering at home whose immune systems are compromised by chemotherapy treatment, organ transplants, COPD or TB.
American Innovative Research Corp. is an Andover, Massachusetts, U.S.A. company dedicated to the development of advanced technology for use in household and institutional airborne contamination purification and protection.
