FBR Capital Markets Announces Additions to Its Trading and Sales Trading Teams

ARLINGTON, Va., May 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- FBR Capital Markets Corporation (FBR Capital Markets), a leading investment bank serving the middle market, announced today the addition of new members to its Trading and Sales Trading teams. John Gillin joins as Senior Managing Director and Head of Sales Trading and will be based in the firm's Arlington, Virginia office. Timothy Bricker joins as Managing Director and Head of Sales Trading in San Francisco and Mark Costello as Senior Vice President and Position Trader within Equity Trading in New York.

Mr. Gillin, a Wall Street veteran with 22 years of Sales Trading experience, joins FBR Capital Markets from Wachovia Securities where he was a Managing Director and headed its Sales Trading operation. Prior to Wachovia, he was a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank Alex Brown and began his career at Wertheim & Co. Mr. Gillin holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from The University of Virginia.

With more than 23 years of experience, Mr. Bricker joins FBR Capital Markets from Citigroup where he spent seven years as Head of West Coast Sales Trading. Prior to Citigroup, he held the same position at ING Capital Markets. Earlier in his career, he worked as an equity trader at Columbia Management Company and as a sales trader at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Bricker received a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Oregon.

Mr. Costello joins FBR Capital Markets' Equity Trading team from Citigroup where he was Head of Energy & Utilities Trading and worked for nearly 15 years. At FBR Capital Markets, he will specialize in trading the Integrated Oil, Oil Services and Utilities sectors. Mr. Costello completed a Bachelor of Science in finance at St. Johns University.
