Britain’s Largest Independent Farmhouse Cheese Producer to Exhibit and Showcase New “Ivy’s Vintage Reserve” Gourmet Cheddar in Atlanta This June
Wyke Farms, the UK's largest independent cheese producer and milk processor, today announced the company will be showcasing and sampling their award-winning variety of mild, mature and vintage farmhouse cheddars and butter at the International Dairy Deli Bakery Association’s (IDDBA) annual show, which will be held in Atlanta, GA, June 7-9, 2009. In addition, the family-owned and operated company will be giving a preview of their newest premium vintage farmhouse cheddar, Ivy’s Vintage Reserve, by sampling the product for the first time in the United States.
Wyke Farms has maintained the art of traditional cheese making on their family farm in Somerset, England, where the Clothier’s have been producing farmhouse cheddar and butter from the same original family recipe developed by Grandmother Ivy in 1902. Today, Wyke Farms is the largest family-owned cheese maker in Britain, selling over 12,000 tons annually, and has become a household name throughout the UK and Europe where their cheddars have won more than 100 awards and prizes at national cheese shows, including gold at the International Cheese Awards.
Wyke Farms will be at booth #1546 during the Dairy-Deli-Bake Expo, where they will be available for discussions as well as sampling of their award-winning cheese and dairy products, including their newest premium Ivy’s Vintage Reserve, a variety of their other vintage and mature cheddars - Just Delicious Extra Mature Cheddar, Rich & Creamy Mature Cheddar, Simply Gorgeous Vintage Cheddar, So Mellow Mild Cheddar, TNT Aged Cheddar and Village Oak Vintage 18 Month-Old Cheddar - and Wyke’s Truly Scrumptious Farmhouse Butter.
Be sure to visit Wyke Farms at the IDDBA show, Georgia World Congress Center at booth #1546 from June 7-9, 2009.

About Wyke Farms
Wyke Farms Ltd is a family run company based in the heart of the Somerset cheddar-making region. The art of traditional cheese making will never be lost on their Somerset farm where the Clothier family has been making cheddar to Ivy Clothier’s same original secret recipe since 1902.
Today, Wyke Farms is the largest independent cheese maker and milk processor in the UK, producing over 12,000 tonnes of cheddar per year to the same award winning 100 year-old recipe.
Recent brand data confirms Wyke Farms as the fastest growing brand within the cheddar category, with retail sales at over £1 million per week1 and growing at 180 percent. The Wyke Farms brand is the 4th largest in the category and the only independent company in the top 10 cheese brands2.
Wyke remains a truly traditional family business. Ivy’s grandsons Richard and Tom now run the cheese-making operations with their father John, whilst her other two grandsons David and Roger run the family dairy farming operations. The four grandchildren share Ivy’s passion for cheese making where flavour, texture and taste are paramount. They believe that this attention to detail is the reason that their cheese has won more awards at national cheese shows than any other.
