Shell Announces New Executive Vice President of Global Government Relations Position Based in Washington, D.C.

HOUSTON, June 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Royal Dutch Shell announces the appointment of Roxanne Decyk to a newly created position of Executive Vice President of Global Government Relations, based in Washington, D.C.

In her new role, Decyk will report directly to future Chief Executive Peter Voser and she will serve as the company's chief diplomat. Decyk will work to strengthen Shell's relationships with key governments and policy makers around the world. The position is based in D.C. because Shell believes that the United States will have a major role in addressing global energy and climate change challenges.

A native of Chicago, Decyk joined Shell in 1999 as Vice President, Corporate Strategy of Royal Dutch/Shell Group in London, with responsibility for global corporate planning and strategy. From 2002-2005, she served as Senior Vice President for Corporate Affairs/Human Resources for Shell U.S., with responsibility for human resources, diversity, external and government affairs, health and safety and ethics and compliance. In July 2005, Decyk was appointed Corporate Affairs Director of Royal Dutch Shell plc. She became a member of the company's Executive Committee in 2007. Two years later, she was named Corporate Affairs and Sustainable Development Director, the position she has held until her recent appointment.

Prior to joining Shell, Decyk held executive positions with Amoco Oil Corporation and Navistar, formerly International Harvester Company.

Likewise, the words "we", "us" and "our" are also used to refer to subsidiaries in general or to those who work for them. These expressions are also used where no useful purpose is served by identifying the particular company or companies. "Subsidiaries", "Shell subsidiaries" and "Shell companies" as used in this announcement refer to companies in which Royal Dutch Shell either directly or indirectly has control, by having either a majority of the voting rights or the right to exercise a controlling influence. In this announcement, associates and jointly controlled entities are also referred to as "equity-accounted investments". The term "Shell interest" is used for convenience to indicate the direct and/or indirect (for example, through our 34% shareholding in Woodside Petroleum Ltd.) ownership interest held by Shell in a venture, partnership or company, after exclusion of all third-party interest.
