MarkWest Energy Partners, L.P. (NYSE: MWE) announced today that the underwriter of its common unit offering exercised in full its option to purchase an additional 435,000 common units at $18.15. The option was granted in connection with the Partnership’s offering of 2,900,000 common units, which was completed on June 10, 2009. The Partnership intends to use the net proceeds of approximately $57.9 million, excluding offering expenses, from the initial offering and the exercise of the option to partially fund its growth capital budget. Pending that use, the Partnership intends to apply a portion of the net proceeds to pay down borrowings under its revolving credit facility.
