Officially opening the events was H.E. Khaled Bin Sulayem, Director General, Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing-Government of Dubai. Joining H.E. Khaled Bin Sulayem at the opening ceremony were:

"We are very excited to host the 3rd annual China Sourcing Fairs here in Dubai," said Bill Janeri, Global Sources' Middle East General Manager. "More than ever, in today's market environment buyers throughout the Middle East are aggressively looking for new, quality products that offer competitive margins for their businesses. Greater China suppliers have consistently offered innovative, well-made consumer goods for which there is an increasing demand here in the region. The China Sourcing Fairs provide a unique opportunity for importers and volume buyers to meet face-to-face with the largest gathering of Greater China suppliers in the Middle East."

"We are very pleased to welcome back the China Sourcing Fairs," said Helal Almarri, CEO of the Dubai World Trade Centre. "With an annual growth of 40% in the number of booths, it is clear that the China Sourcing Fairs are filling a need in the marketplace, and helping to facilitate trade between the Middle East and Greater China manufacturers."

The China Sourcing Fairs in Dubai serve importers and volume buyers in the Middle East and North Africa region who seek high-quality products from competitive Greater China suppliers. More than 7,100 buyers from 97 countries and regions attended last year's event. This year's Fairs feature exhibitors of gifts and premiums, home products, consumer electronics and fashion accessories.

This year, the China Sourcing Fairs are co-located with the India Sourcing Fair, a dedicated exhibition featuring competitive exporters from India. The India Sourcing Fair is supported by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO).

"Previously, FIEO participated at the India Sourcing Fair: Home Products held April 2009, in Hong Kong," said Shri Ajay Sahai, Director General, FIEO. "That event has been very fruitful for Indian companies, and they have received many orders. The buyers were of high quality with serious intent to place orders."

"Based on the response received by Indian exhibitors, FIEO is participating in the India Sourcing Fair: Home Products in Dubai. We expect an encouraging response in Dubai also."
