Fly More Using Less Miles on United Airlines / United Reduces by at least 20 Percent the Amount of Miles Required for a Mileage Plus(R) Saver Award Ticket

CHICAGO, July 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mileage Plus frequent fliers may now fly more using less miles on United as we reduce by at least 20 percent the amount of miles required for Saver Award travel to many international and domestic locations for the first time in almost ten years.

Saver Award tickets must be booked on united.com by July 24 and travel must be completed between August 18 and Nov. 18, 2009. Complete terms and conditions are below.** For roundtrip travel in United Economy from within North America to the following destinations, mileage levels have been reduced between 20 percent and 29 percent:

** Terms and conditions for reduced Saver Award (MPW039): -- Valid for travel to/from the following award regions: within North America, between North America and Hawaii, Central America, Caribbean, South America, Europe, Australia, Middle East or Asia. Refer to the award destination guide on united.com. -- Reduced award miles apply only to travel on United and United Express operated flights, but not on flights operated by other airlines. Roundtrip travel is required and stopovers or open-jaws are not permitted. -- If award is used for one-way travel, no residual credit will be issued for unused segments. -- Travel is valid from August 18, 2009 through November 18, 2009. All travel must be completed by November 18, 2009. -- Ticketing must be completed between July 15, 2009 and July 24, 2009. -- This offer is available only on united.com and is not available through United Reservations, airport ticket counters, travel agencies or general sales agents. -- This offer cannot be applied to previously issued tickets. -- Taxes and fees associated with award travel are the responsibility of the passenger. Award tickets are subject to applicable departure taxes, federal inspection fees, passenger facility charges, and other fees, charges or taxes, and the person utilizing the award is responsible for the payment of any such items that may apply. Any valid unused award ticket or certificate may be returned to the Mileage Plus Service Center for a service charge up to two years from the date of issue. -- Award space is subject to availability and capacity-control restrictions apply. Since award space is booked in a special class of service, it may not be available on all flights or on all days of the week when you choose to travel. Travel on award tickets is not eligible for mileage accrual in United Mileage Plus or any other frequent flyer program. -- Not combinable with other offers. -- Award only eligible for travel in United Economy. -- No upgrades are permitted on award travel bookings. -- Award travel booked and ticketed less than 21 days prior to departure is subject to an additional non-refundable close-in processing fee of up to US$100 per award ticket. This fee is charged on the credit card used to support the award ticketing transaction and may take up to one week for processing. For more information on close-in processing fees, see the United Award Fees on united.com. -- Changes to travel dates are permitted in advance by calling United Reservations. Changes may be subject to additional fees. After an award ticket is issued, a US$150 service charge may be imposed for each change requested by the member which necessitates the re-issuance of the ticket. Changes to the date or flight time will not result in a service charge provided changes are made within the valid dates of this offer and the same cities are traveled. If the ticket is exchanged for travel outside of the validity period, the mileage will be credited back into the member account for the applicable US$150 service charge, and a new ticket issued at the appropriate miles for the new award.
