The Florida Department of Citrus (FDOC), an executive agency of Florida government charged with the marketing, research and regulation of the Florida citrus industry, has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for its domestic advertising programs. The RFP 09-02 is posted on the State of Florida Web site, http://vbs.dms.state.fl.us/vbs/main_menu. Written questions about the RFP process are due on Tuesday, August 11. Proposals are due on Friday, September 18 by 11 a.m. EDT.
The Florida Department of Citrus is funded by a tax paid by growers on each box of citrus that moves through commercial channels. The industry employs more than 76,000 people, provides a $9.3 billion annual impact to the state, and contributes hundreds of millions of dollars in tax revenues that help support Florida’s schools, roads and health care services.
