MANCHESTER, N.H., Aug. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Casual Friday is about to take on a whole new meaning for Steve Krom, vice president and general manager of AT&T in New England, who has been known to get a little wild once a week and leave his tie at home. This Friday, he'll do something even more out of character for a communications executive: he will rappel himself off the Brady Sullivan building at 1000 Elm Street. . .and he won't be alone. As presenting sponsor for the Xtreme Descent fundraiser, August 14-15th, AT&T is leading the charge to help support the Daniel Webster Boy Scout Council (DWBSC), a non-profit scouting organization that serves New Hampshire's youth.

Steve Krom, the vice president and general manager for AT&T New England and Matt Montour, Area Retail Sales Manager for AT&T New Hampshire will be among more than 80 event participants. Montour is also a lifelong Granite State resident and Eagle Scout.
As part of the event, AT&T is offering a number of free mobile services to help those that are rappelling share their experience with friends and family.
"Before you step off the top of the building, we'll offer you three mobile life lines. You can phone a friend, send a text or send an email. We'll also use AT&T wireless devices to shoot mobile videos of each rappeler as they come down the building so they can share it with friends and family," says Montour.
"Part of being a good company is being a good neighbor. We're pleased to be able to help raise awareness for the Scouts in New Hampshire and the good work they do in our communities," added Krom.
Krom and Montour will be participating in a preview event on Friday the 14th from 5 to 8 p.m. that is also open to members of the media. The main event begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday the 15th. All proceeds will go directly to Daniel Webster Boy Scouts to fund their many programs. These programs include Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Eagle Scouts and Venturing.
The Brady Sullivan Building soars 24 stories above the Manchester skyline. Each rappeler must raise a minimum of $1000 to rappel, approximately $41 per floor. Click here for more information on how to participate.
AT&T's relationship with the Daniel Webster Boy Scouts began last year with the Moose Parade. In fact, "Sunny the Moose" still stands in the lobby of AT&T's New England headquarters.
There are eight AT&T-owned retail locations in New Hampshire. AT&T's products and services are also available at a number of authorized dealer and national retail locations.
