HOUSTON, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Amegy Bank has announced the Executive Vice President promotion of veteran banker Suzie Jones who has become the head of the Bank's Investments Division, comprised of Foreign Exchange, Wealth Management (Personal Trust, Private Brokerage, and Managed Investments), Retirement Plan Services, Fixed Income, Corporate Investments, and Investment Operations.

"Suzie's clients have always viewed her as a 'first call resource' and a provider of valuable advice," says Scott McLean, president of Amegy Bank. "She has seen our investment division grow from its inception and knows how to partner with our relationship managers to make sure all our clients have access to our full range of investment, brokerage and capital markets products."

Previously a senior vice president and head of Retirement Plan Services at Amegy, Jones was also president and CEO of Amegy Insurance Agency, Inc. and is on the board of directors of Amegy Investments, Inc. Her expertise includes financial planning, retirement plan design, fiduciary risk management, compliance, education and communication, and investment strategies. Prior to joining Amegy Bank in 1995, she was an entrepreneur for 18 years: as the founder and CEO of a national educational consulting firm that provided technical training to bankers and their clients in retirement plan strategies and investments, her workshops were endorsed by the American Bankers Association, the American Institute of Banking, and 18 state banking associations.

Jones holds many licenses and designations including Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF), FINRA Series 24 - Securities Principal, FINRA Series 65 - Investment Advisor, Series 7 and 63 - Registered Securities Representative, and General Lines - Life, Accident, & Health Insurance.

The Women's Resource of Greater Houston, an organization that helps women and children build financial literacy, named Jones as one of Houston's "Outstanding Women in Banking and Financial Services" in May. Just a few weeks later, she was named Volunteer of the Month by the Spring Branch Independent School district (a Houston suburb) for her work on a mentoring program that helps middle school teens and their parents prepare for college and offers scholarships to students who complete the program. She has also been involved with Habitat for Humanity, Texas Scholars, Dress for Success, and I Have a Dream.
