BBVA Compass to Host Third Quarter U.S. Regional Watch Economic Teleconference and Webinar / Teleconference and Webinar will be conducted from the campus of The University of Colorado at Boulder on Monday, September 21 at 11:00 a.m. CT

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- BBVA Compass today announced that it will hold a teleconference and webcast to discuss economic results from its recently completed third quarter U.S. Regional Watch at 11:00 a.m. CT on Monday, September 21, 2009. Hosted in conjunction with The University of Colorado at Boulder Leeds School of Business, the presentation will discuss economic data and analysis from the BBVA Compass U.S. Regional Watch, a quarterly publication that offers a detailed look at key issues that impact the U.S. economy and the economies of the Sunbelt Region.

"Recent economic indicators confirm that the worst of the downturn is over," said Nathaniel Karp, BBVA Compass Chief Economist. "We should start seeing positive GDP growth rates beginning in the third quarter. The recovery process will be characterized by a slow expansion rate over a prolonged period of time. Nonetheless, economic growth in the U.S. will remain well above other developed countries, led by the Sunbelt Region."

BBVA Compass' third U.S. Regional Watch teleconference and webcast will take place from the campus of The University of Colorado at Boulder. The presentation will be conducted by Nathaniel Karp, BBVA Compass Chief Economist with supporting commentary from Dr. Richard L. Wobbekind, Associate Dean, Leeds School of Business.

Interested parties may access the call via either the Internet or telephone. Internet access to the call and to the supporting slide presentation will be available through BBVA Compass' web site at http://www.bbvacompass.com/. Click on the link labeled U.S. Regional Watch to access the webcast and slide presentation. For telephone access, dial 877-833-0673 (domestic) or 706-758-5063 (international), conference ID 29331057. Telephone participants are requested to dial in 10 minutes prior to the start of the call to allow time for all participants to log in.

A live question and answer session will follow the presentation. Questions can also be submitted by e-mail to communications@bbvacompass.com.

A replay of the teleconference will be available through BBVA Compass' web site and by telephone at 800-642-1687 for domestic calls and 706-645-9291 for foreign calls (conference ID 29331057) until midnight on October 5, 2009.
