Baylor University Ranks #4 In Nation for Entrepreneurship

WACO, Texas, Sept. 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- From over 2,300 schools surveyed by Entrepreneur magazine and The Princeton Review, Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business was recognized as having one of the top 50 entrepreneurship programs in the country. Baylor ranked 4th in the undergraduate category of the survey.

The seventh annual ranking reveals the nation's top 25 undergraduate and top 25 graduate programs for entrepreneurship. Baylor's ranking can be seen at http://www.entrepreneur.com/topcolleges, along with information on overall trends found with social and sustainable entrepreneurship, experiential learning, and entrepreneurship as a means of reaching out both internationally and locally.

"With one of the oldest entrepreneurship programs in the nation, Baylor has long been a pioneer in the field, consistently ranking in the top 25. This year, we are very pleased to have reached a historically high ranking," said Dr. Kendall Artz, chair of the Management and Entrepreneurship Department and director of the Entrepreneurship program. "We continue to enhance the program in innovative ways, including the recent addition of the new Entrepreneurship Living and Learning Center on campus, the development of new international programs in China, Africa, the Dominican Republic and Europe, and the creation of the Baylor Angel Network."

Baylor was evaluated based on key criteria in the areas of academics and requirements, students and faculty, and outside-the-classroom experiences. Amy Cosper, VP/editor in chief at Entrepreneur, says "Each school that made the list demonstrates excellence in one or more areas-whether in regards to course offerings, the success of students post-graduation, sponsored mentorship programs, or other important factors. While each program is unique, their inclusion in this ranking solidifies their place in an elite category of institutions offering a superlative level of education and preparedness the will play a key role in ensuring the success of tomorrow's entrepreneurs."

The joint efforts of The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur bring together The Princeton Review's renowned expertise in research and education with Entrepreneur's in-depth understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing entrepreneurs in a tough economic climate.

The results of the survey, along with the analysis, appear in the October issue of Entrepreneur, which hits newsstands on September 22nd.
