City of Houston Selects TPI as IT Advisor / Leading sourcing data and advisory firm to help nation's fourth-largest city reduce costs, improve service, use technology more efficiently

HOUSTON, Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- TPI, the largest sourcing data and advisory firm in the world and a unit of Information Services Group, Inc. (ISG) , an industry-leading information-based services company, announced today that it has been selected to help the nation's fourth-largest city manage its IT infrastructure more efficiently and cost-effectively.

The City of Houston, which spends more than $125 million per year on technology, has engaged TPI to help it assess alternatives for reducing operating costs and improving service delivery, including outsourcing, in-sourcing and hybrid sourcing strategies. Leveraging its proven tools and processes and Public Sector expertise, TPI will make recommendations for achieving key IT objectives such as server and data center consolidation and disaster recovery capability improvement.

"In this time of severe budget constraints, municipalities owe it to taxpayers to identify opportunities to operate with more efficiency and agility," said Don Flores, Partner and Director, State and Local Government Services for TPI. "By undertaking this IT infrastructure assessment right now, the City of Houston is demonstrating that it wants to be a leader and an innovator in the drive for more customer-centric government services."

As the founder of the sourcing advisory industry, TPI has a long track record of helping organizations in the Public Sector achieve higher performance and lower costs in their technology operations. Recent engagements include assisting the State of Texas and the State of Georgia and the national governments of Australia, Sweden and Singapore.

Said Richard Lewis, Chief Information Officer, City of Houston: "We selected TPI because of its reputation in the sourcing industry, wide experience in the Public Sector and proven approach to helping enterprises identify sustainable programs for optimizing their IT infrastructure services."
