Veteran of higher education and multi-campus operations, Jeb Egbert, M.B.A., Ed.D, to oversee University’s academic growth and accreditation
West Coast University Executive Chairman of the Board David Pyle today appointed Jeb Egbert, M.B.A., Ed.D., as Provost and Chief Academic Officer of West Coast University. As a result of restructuring by the University to accommodate growth and impending expansion, Dr. Egbert has been appointed the University’s first Provost, now responsible for a wide range of traditional academic areas for the University’s three campuses in Southern California, including faculty and academic support personnel, accreditation, academic program development, academic assessment, academic policies and procedures, and academic budget management.
Most recently, Dr. Egbert spent five years as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Campus President at Argosy University, a for-profit, regionally accredited university. Prior to that position, Dr. Egbert held a management role with EDS for six years, during which he also led a number of educational functions within the corporation. During the first 19 years of his career in higher education, Dr. Egbert has served in both faculty and administrative roles at Ambassador University a non-profit, regionally accredited university.
The announcement of Dr. Egbert’s new position comes on the heels of the recent appointment of Barry Ryan, J.D., Ph.D., as President and Chief Executive Officer of West Coast University.
“We welcome Dr. Egbert, whose expertise will, no doubt, enable the University to develop practices and structures that will position it for success, especially as we continue to focus on regional accreditation,” said Dr. Ryan. “For a growing University like ours, his long experience in higher education and familiarity with a multi-campus system operating in Southern California will prove valuable in managing growth in a way that keeps West Coast focused on its core values while adapting to an ever-changing educational environment. His student-centeredness has been a hallmark of his career and fits perfectly with the ethos and history of West Coast University.”
Dr. Egbert’s formal training comes from Texas A & M, where he earned his Doctorate in Education, and the University of Texas, where he received his M.B.A.
“This is an exciting time for West Coast University, now in its centennial year and experiencing tremendous growth, which I am proud to now be a part of,” said Dr. Egbert.
