Engineering Firm Recognized for Going Beyond Environmental Regulations and for “Commitment to Environmental Improvement”
Engineering and consulting company Mazzetti Nash Lipsey Burch(M+NLB) announced today that it is a recipient of the Colorado Environmental Leadership Award, one of several dozen companies to be so honored. The award is given jointly by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the Colorado Environmental Partnership and the Pollution Prevention Advisory Board and is a statewide environmental recognition and reward program.
The award will be presented at an event on October 20 in Denver, Colorado at the Denver Center for Performing Arts. This is the third environmental award that M+NLB has won in 2009; the firm won a Practice Greenhealth Champion for Change Award (its third) in May and in June became the first business to receive the Portland, Oregon BEST Business Center’s new Portland Climate Champion recognition.
M+NLB is receiving the “Silver” level of the three-tiered Colorado Environmental Leadership Award along with 28 other organizations. There are 24 new Gold level winners and 33 companies designated as Bronze Leaders.
“We began greening our business years ago, because one of our core values is to do what’s right,” said Walt Vernon, President of M+NLB. “We can’t be telling our clients they should reduce their environmental footprint unless we are doing it ourselves. We are new to the Denver area, and we are honored to be able to be here in a sustainable way.”
Founded in 1962, M+NLB is a full-service mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology engineering consulting and design firm, also providing value-added commissioning and medical/laboratory equipment planning and procurement services. It has offices in San Francisco, Irvine, and Sacramento, Calif.; Portland, Ore.; Nashville, Tenn.; Denver, Colo.; Baton Rouge, La., and Houston, Tex. The firm serves the healthcare, mission critical, laboratory, and higher education sectors. M+NLB was one of the first engineering firms in the U.S. to add a climate consulting practice to their list of client services.
