The Indian Wells Golf Resort’s IW Club has been recognized by California Construction Magazine with the prestigious “Best of 2009” award in the Sports/Recreation category. Honoring Barnhart, Inc, a top rated southern California construction firm and builder of IW Club, the award recognizes the firm’s construction and design excellence of the City’s golf resort clubhouse.
As an annual statewide competition, this year’s judges reviewed more than 125 of the state’s top construction and design projects nominated in a variety of categories. Nominees were judged based on project management, overcoming challenges of the job, overall excellence in architectural or engineering design, innovation, safety and the contribution to the community and/or the construction industry, among other criteria. Judges could not vote on projects they were affiliated with or had worked on.
Barnhart, Inc., headquartered in San Diego, CA., is a wholly owned subsidiary of Heery International, a 1,500-person architecture, interior design, engineering, facility management, program management and construction management firm based in Atlanta.
Winners of the “Best of 2009” awards will be featured in the December 2009 issue of the magazine. California Construction Magazine is one of 11 monthly regional construction publications published by the McGraw-Hill Cos. throughout the country.
