DFI TECH, a leading embedded computing systems provider and integrator, announces its new M100 1U Media Engine for Digital Signage applications.
“The M100 (Media Engine) was a collaborative effort with Symon, a leading provider of visual communications deployments,” said Andy Lu, the Director of Business Development for DFI TECH. “Our mutual strengths in our respective industries along with the understanding of the customer's requirements have made this product development a success.”
Unlike most media players using commercial components, at the core of the purpose-built M100 lies DFI's own embedded (revision controlled and extended life cycle) main board. According to Lu,“The M100 gives our customers the assurance that their applications are running on a truly reliable and stable, feature-rich hardware platform.”
What makes the M100 a true 'Media Engine' as opposed to simply a 'Media Player' is the robustness of the system, including support for high-definition video (1080p), DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL2.1. HDTV Tuners and support for up to 4 video outputs and 8 USB 2.0 ports allow for maximum connectivity. In addition, the M100 includes a 2.5” shock-mounted HDD. The M100 supports the use of the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo/Quad processor.
With flexibility of deployment in mind, the M100 can be VESA mounted to the rear of a display/monitor, used as a free-standing unit or in a rack environment.
The M100 1U Rack Mount Media Engine was designed to meet today's digital signage application needs and provide headroom for growth.
DFI TECH will be showing the M100 at KioskCom Self Service Expo from November 10-11 at the Jacob Javits Center (booth no. 535) in New York and at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) from November 17-19 (booth no. 458) at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
