Renowned Systems Ecologist, Business Strategist & Author Gil Friend to Deliver Keynote
Early Bird Registration Ends November 13th
Green Wine Summit announced today that Gil Friend, President and CEO of Natural Logic, Inc., will deliver the 2009 keynote address at its December 2nd luncheon in Santa Rosa, California. Gil is the author of The Truth About Green Business, published by Financial Times Press, which Worldchanging.com has called “simply the best green business book on the market.”
“We are honored to have Gil deliver our keynote,” said Lesley Berglund, Co-Chair of GWS. “As a leading thinker on sustainability, Gil brings decades of experience in systems ecology and business strategy. His presentation will be relevant to every segment of our industry, and if you care about sustainability, and getting it right, his keynote is a must-see.”
“Green business is suddenly big business,” said Friend, “but too many businesses leave money on the table by not fully grasping the opportunity. That's why I've packed my nearly 40 years of sustainable business and policy experience into this book, with 52 focused 'truths' that provide a practical roadmap for large and small companies to make money by putting these truths to work.”
Gil is a founding board member of the Sustainable Business Alliance, the California Sustainable Business Council and serves on the executive board of OpenEco.org and the advisory boards of Open Data Registry, CleanFish, WattBot and Green World Campaign. Tomorrow magazine called him “One of the country's leading environmental management consultants—a real expert who combines theoretical sophistication with hands-on, in-the-trenches know-how.”
