Forrester analyzed the managed global MPLS services market by evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of providers against an extensive set of 54 criteria grouped into three categories: current offerings, strategy and market presence.
Specifically, the report notes, "Verizon also received a very high score for its overall strategy...and received top marks for its very strong and credible value proposition for MNCs looking for managed multiregional/global MPLS solutions." Further, the report cited the strength of the company's portfolio and features: "Verizon has a strong current offering for managed global MPLS services, including the broadest CoS/QoS capabilities for prioritizing data/application traffic and the widest choice of standard port bandwidth options in different geographic regions."
In addition, the report found the company "also articulated the strongest commitment to invest in enhancing its global IP network and its MPLS services portfolio for 2009 and 2010."
