Cebyc GmbH certifies its software pursuant to the new European standard for Energy Management Systems DIN EN 16001. Cebyc GmbH is market leading with its energy management system Energinet, which is currently the first solution to meet the requirements of the new international standard for energy management. The certification has been performed by Det Norske Veritas Germany GmbH.
Energinet has been designed by the Norwegian company Cebyc AS with its main office in Trondheim and a subsidiary in Düsseldorf in Germany.
Cebyc certifies its software Energinet for the European standard for energy management DIN EN 16001
Det Norske Veritas (DNV Germany GmbH) has performed a thorough evaluation of Energinet, based on the following criteria:
 |  | - DIN EN 16001:2009, Energy management and requirements to user instructions |
- Quality criteria for software based on verification of output data (black box approach). |
DNV has concluded that Energinet is the first system in the EU which satisfies the main requirements of DIN EN 16001:2009.
"Our view on energy management is that it is a very much technical driven management system," says Olaf Hiebl, Senior Consultant at DNV Germany GmbH. "Energy Management means therefore concrete targets, consumptions, meters, costs, controlling, alerts, reviews, responsibilities, duties and deadlines for improvement measures. All these can be realized by using ENERGINET."
The most important requirements related to EN16001 are strategic and operational definitions of energy goals and control of goal achievement. In addition, a continuous improvement process based on concrete figures and facts is to be presented. Companies that employ Energinet as energy management system will be able to meet these requirements.
Energinet is able to monitor all types of energy consumption, costs and execution of energy saving measures, real time, all the way down to the individual meter. By means of an advanced reporting system, concrete energy goals may be formulated. Alarms will notify the person in charge of energy about deviations from predetermined goals, so that measures may be initiated quickly. A gradual approach provides the users at various levels access to planning energy saving measures and to execute them.
"For our customers, the investment we have made in certifying Energinet entails that our customers may receive certification of their own companies faster, simpler and more cost efficient. Our group of Partners in Norway and in the EU will be ready to help our customers in order to accomplish this end. At the same time, this will strengthen our position within the EU market which we consider to be our home market. We are proud that a Trondheim based company is the first to achieve this certification," says General Manager and founder Øyvind Ludvigsen.
Cebyc was established in 2002 in Trondheim with a goal to develop a web based energy management system.
Since 2008, the company has also been represented in Germany through Cebyc GmbH. Energinet is especially designed for Energy and Waste Management. The system has been translated into 14 languages and is used all over Europe.
Cebyc is market leading and delivers the whole value chain from meters/loggers to reports. As a supplier of the whole value chain, Cebyc safeguards quality and continuity in the work for reduction of the energy consumption.
The company has many large and prominent customers in the private and public sector as well as in the manufacturing industry. A cooperation agreement has also been signed with T-Mobile in Germany to develop and offer mobile-based applications for recording energy consumption.
