CONIX Systems Inc., a leading international provider of payment processing solutions to the financial services industry, sponsored a webinar in October of this year that featured a discussion among industry experts regarding the increase in fraud and duplicate payments resulting from electronic clearing methods as well as the potential benefits and issues surrounding the acceleration of exception payment processing.
The webinar was hosted by Penny Carroll of BB&T, Paul Carrubba of Adams and Reese LLP, Anita Driscoll of Symcor USA, and Bill Saffici of Saffici Payment Consulting. Each of these industry leaders provided insight into the issues facing the financial industry as a result of changes brought about by Check 21. The topics covered included the new areas of potential fraud risks, exception processes that can be moved into the Day 1 processing environment, operational considerations of accelerating these processes, and new applications needed to facilitate the migration of these processes into Day 1. They also fielded questions from participants from over 30 financial institutions across the country.
At the conclusion of the webinar, participants were invited to participate in a survey addressing issues facing their particular banks. A recording of the webinar along with the results of the survey can be viewed at www.conix.com.
