La Gran Plaza Property Spans 39,271 Square Feet; Capacity for 850 Students
Everest College plans to open a second campus in Fort Worth to help meet the demand for career-based education. The 39,271-square-foot facility will have capacity for 850 students. It will be located on the ground floor of the recently renovated La Gran Plaza shopping mall located at 4200 South Freeway, in Fort Worth. The new campus will also create jobs, bringing approximately 100 positions for faculty and other staff to the area.
"We are proud to address the growing needs of the North Texas community with additional education options. The new Everest College campus will serve the Ft. Worth area which we believe is underserved as a result of the monetary cutbacks that the public post-secondary institutions currently face," said Dave Whiteford, president of Everest's South division which currently includes eight Texas campuses.
The La Gran Plaza campus will offer nine diploma and degree programs. Diploma programs will include: Medical Assisting, Medical Insurance Billing and Coding, Dental Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant and Pharmacy Technician. Degree programs will include: Criminal Justice Associate, Paralegal Associate, Business Associate and Accounting Associate. In addition, students will have access to classrooms with interactive technology such as Wi-Fi, laptops and SMART boards.
Renovations to the facility are currently underway and the campus is expected to be open by summer 2010. Michael Pariza of Boxer Property is the broker of record that represented the landlord in the transaction.
