Long-time H-E-B shopper Irma Teeters received a special Christmas surprise today when she learned that she is the grand-prize winner in the H-E-B "Countdown to Christmas" Sweepstakes. The 74-year-old Laredo resident wins a year's worth of free groceries, valued at $5,200, from H-E-B.
Teeters entered the sweepstakes last month while shopping at her favorite neighborhood H-E-B. The sweepstakes ran in all Laredo stores between November 11 and December 20 and were created to celebrate H-E-B's 80-years of serving the Laredo community, and to show its heart-felt thanks to the community for its continued support.
"We are proud of our long history in Laredo, and prouder still to reward customers, like Ms. Teeter, in this special way for their long-standing support," said Bob Tellez, H-E-B Director of Retail Operations, Laredo/Southwest.
Each week during the contest period, H-E-B gave away more than $1,000 in prizes, including $500 in H-E-B Gift Cards and tickets to see the San Antonio Spurs, to winning shoppers at every Laredo H-E-B store. The sweepstakes also coincided with November's re-grand opening of H-E-B's newly remodeled Laredo #3 store, located at 4801 San Dario. The store was updated with numerous new features and product offerings in a show of appreciation for the loyalty displayed by Laredo's residents in choosing H-E-B for their shopping needs.
"I love everything about my H-E-B," said Teeters. "I just couldn't believe it when they told me I had won. This is the perfect Christmas gift. Thank you H-E-B."
