Update - State of the Forest Carbon Marketplace

VANCOUVER, Jan. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Carbon Friendly Solutions Inc. (TSX Venture Exchange: CFQ) ("CFS" or the "Company") is pleased to announce its participation in the recently published Ecosystem Marketplace report titled "State of the Forest Carbon Markets 2009", which surveyed 100 market participants, 65 of whom develop forest protection and restoration projects. Ecosystem Marketplace is a leading source of news, data, and analytics on markets and payments for ecosystem services (such as water quality, carbon sequestration, and biodiversity). A complete copy of the report can be found on the Ecosystem Marketplace website, http://www.ecosystemmarketplace.com/.

The report indicates positive changes in growth patterns over the past three years during which the forest carbon markets have matured substantially. The findings further denote a growing belief in the ability of ecosystem markets to help reverse climate change. From 2007 through the first half of 2009 alone, forest carbon markets have accounted for $100 million into forestry conservation projects around the world, transacting 20.8 million tonnes of CO(2) offsets in the process, with an average price for the voluntary over-the-counter market at $8.44 per tonne of CO(2).

Carbon Friendly President Stan Lis commented "This report further substantiates our continued commitment to completing reforestation projects that reverse climate change. We anticipate having up to 500,000 verified carbon offsets from our first large scale project in Poland by mid 2010. These offsets will be designated for sale in the Forest Carbon Marketplace."
