HARTFORD, Conn., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- United Technologies Corp. and its employees have contributed over $500,000 to support Red Cross and Red Crescent earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.
In just under four weeks, thousands of United Technologies employees from around the world generously pledged more than $260,000 through an employee Haiti Disaster Relief Matching Gift Program. Under the program, United Technologies matched employee donations dollar for dollar, up to $250 per employee, to a cap of $250,000.
United Technologies' employees have a history of contributing to their communities and to international relief efforts. In 2009, United Technologies employee contributions to charitable causes totaled more than $4.3 million.
