Peter Kinnear, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of FMC Technologies, said, "The Spotlight on New Technology Award is a very prestigious recognition and we are honored that our technologies have once again been recognized by OTC. This meter, developed by our Multi Phase Meter (MPM) business acquired during 2009, is a significant technology advancement for our industry and our customers."
The meter has been rated at 15,000 psi and temperatures of up to 480 degrees F (250 degrees C). It has also been designed for use at water depths of 11,500 feet (3,500 meters), and performs in multiphase and wetgas applications. Patent and patent pending technologies make the meter significantly more accurate and robust than existing products. Through the use of 3D tomography imaging, the meter significantly improves the measurement accuracy and range of multiphase production flow. The revolutionary self calibrating meter detects and measures water salinity in combination with other liquids in a flow stream, thus saving operators time and enhancing production knowledge.
FMC will be presented the award during a ceremony and press conference at 4:00 p.m. CDT on Monday, May 3, in the Rotunda area of Reliant Center.
