Report Predicts That Retailers Will "Significantly Increase the Level of Assortment Localization in 2010"1
Predictix today announced that it has been positioned as a Leader in the just-released report from AMR Research (acquired by Gartner), "Retail Assortment Management Leaders and Contenders—Evaluation Insights Revealed." The report by Kevin Sterneckert, Research Director with AMR's retail practice, evaluates 25 assortment vendors against three dynamics, illustrating how each performs overall while detailing their strengths as related to core functionalities and consumer centricity. Innovation in technology will be a key driver in helping retailers improve their understanding of their customers and how to properly execute assortments in every store. As the report states, "AMR Research predicts that retailers will significantly increase the level of assortment localization in 2010 ... [with] a majority of retailers focusing their efforts on improving the assortment management process over the next 12 to 36 months."
Retailers surveyed for the report overwhelmingly preferred best-of-breed (on-premise, software-as-a-service or hosted) assortment management solutions over in-house developed, ERP, spreadsheets, or extensions within their merchandise planning applications. The report further noted that "as merchants are recognizing that the [traditional] approach to assortment planning is no longer sufficient, they are looking for better tools to aid in the discovery of consumer preferences and the execution of assortments in each store."
Considering factors such as consumer segmentation capabilities, store grading and clustering using consumer demand preferences, localized planning, customer satisfaction, and number of clients, Sterneckert positioned Predictix as a leader in assortment management. Predictix was the only software-as-a-service (SaaS) company among the leaders in the report.
The Predictix merchandising suite provides enterprise-class functionality and unmatched ease of use, without the drawbacks of competing traditional solutions. Because Predictix solutions are delivered in a monthly subscription SaaS model, brands and retailers can implement and begin seeing results quickly – with no large up-front license payments, long term contracts, software installations, hardware purchases, or additional maintenance and upgrade fees.
"AMR's in-depth evaluation of assortment management providers is very timely," said Molham Aref, CEO, Predictix. "We are not surprised to see that retailers are making this a top investment priority for 2010, and we are seeing the same trend here at Predictix. Predictix is pleased to be considered a leader in retail assortment technology, as one our key purposes as a company is to help our retail clients better understand and serve their customers."
