- New Daily Non-Stop Summer Service From LAX to Mammoth Yosemite Airport
- Mammoth Lakes and Yosemite Regions More Easily Accessible for Summer Travelers
- Fares From $69 Each Way
Building upon the success of its winter air service to Mammoth Lakes, Horizon Air has announced that it will offer non-stop summer flights from Los Angeles to Mammoth beginning April 12, 2010 and continuing through September. The new summer flights will give travelers easy access to one of the country's premiere recreational destinations featuring an extensive mountain biking and trail system, golf, spectacular scenery and world-class shopping, dining and lodging plus nearby Yosemite National Park.
"We are very excited to welcome new visitors from Northern California and the Pacific Northwest and making the trip easier for those in Southern California," said Town Manager Rob Clark. "Our 300 days of sunshine will brighten their experience."
The 70-minute flight will depart from LAX and arrive at the Mammoth Yosemite Airport, just 15 minutes from the Mammoth resort area. The flight will substantially reduce travel time for the thousands of Southern Californians who have driven the five or more hours to arrive at the popular resort area. In addition, it will bring to Mammoth a new group of travelers who may have never considered visiting the area due to the long drive as well as provide more convenient access to the nearby Yosemite National Park and Devils Postpile National Monument, two attractions that were previously not within easy reach.
"Our winter air service to Mammoth has met with phenomenal success," said Dan Russo, Horizon's vice president of marketing and communications. "Now summer travelers from Southern California also will be able to easily access one of the country's most popular vacation destinations and Yosemite, a treasured national park."
"Horizon Air's summer air service is good news for travelers who want to discover and experience the amazing array of outdoor activities this region offers," said Howard Pickett, CMO of Mammoth Mountain. "The thousands of travelers who have taken advantage of the winter air service will now have the opportunity to explore our many summer offerings, whether it's enjoying a scenic gondola ride or challenging the freeride terrain in our mountain bike park."
