Business & Commercial Aviation Launches Integrated Ops and Safety Series; Thunderstorms Debuts on AviationWeek.com

NEW YORK, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- AVIATION WEEK's Business & Commercial Aviation (BCA) has launched an in-depth web series, "Thunderstorms," online and in the April issue. This is the first of the new quarterly Ops & Safety Specials, all of which will offer a wealth of practical, expert information for pilots and business aviation professionals. Thunderstorms safety content from the interactive website includes videos, photos and an "Ask the Experts" blog, and is available at http://aviationweek.com/bcathunderstorms.

"The launch of BCA's new 'Ops & Safety Specials' is the latest example of BCA delivering on its 50+ year promise of expert 'how-to' information," said Greg Hamilton, publisher, Business & Commercial Aviation. "We are making investments to provide an industry-leading integrated experience to the business aviation community with the latest online tools, and delivering more ROI to our customers."

The integrated online series, sponsored by XM WX Satellite Weather, is designed to help pilots operate safely and with minimal scheduling disruption during thunderstorm season. Features include "When Lightning Strikes," "The Hazard of Heavy Rain," "Do-it-yourself TSTM Avoidance," and more. Special sections on systems, services and NTSB reports on recent crashes also provide learning opportunities to increase knowledge and reduce safety risks.

The global business aviation community can look forward to further BCA innovation next month. The May Purchase Planning Handbook issue, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, will now be an integrated digital-print planning tool accessible in four formats across AVIATION WEEK's business aviation portfolio. The Purchase Planning Handbook is the only complete source for comparative business aviation statistics for the business aviation community, and new online tools will deliver the most integrated planning data to make the most informed decisions.
