-- All-electronic format focuses on video testimonials from the people Aetna serves --
Aetna (NYSE: AET) today released its 2009 Annual Report, "Creating Value, Shaping the Future." For the second year in a row, the report is in an all-electronic format – and seeks to add an innovative dimension by featuring 16 video segments, including seven from external constituents. The seven videos, featuring a Medicare Advantage member, a physician, a broker, a nonprofit organization and three employers, offer viewers a chance to see Aetna's external constituents explain in their own words how Aetna adds value to them.
In addition, the Annual Report features certain financial highlights, an interactive Board of Directors page, and notable rewards and recognition. The move to an all-electronic format reflects Aetna's decision to find relevant ways to better engage readers, conserve fiscal resources and respect the environment.
The report is available at www.aetna.com/2009annualreport.
