Signatures by Stanley Furniture Expands Offering, Gains Momentum

STANLEYTOWN, Va., April 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Stanley Furniture Company will welcome 55+ new pieces to its unique accent furniture collection at this spring's High Point Furniture Market.

Last fall, the 86-year old residential case goods manufacturer unveiled Signatures, an all-new adult furniture business concept focused entirely on accent items for the home. According to Adam Tilley, the Vice President of Product Management for Stanley Furniture, Signatures is "a unique and distinctive selection of fine accent pieces that has been hand-picked from all over the globe."

As the definition implies, the business model includes a high percentage of imported items. "Signatures is designed to be an item-driven business," said Tilley. "The idea is to be constantly updating the line so that it serves as a dynamic and refreshing resource for fine accents."

The initial Signatures selection, which debuted at last fall's High Point Furniture Market, featured over 200 accent pieces including beds, chests, tables, desks, mirrors, seating and display pieces. This spring, the company has brought in more than 55 new pieces and added another 20 items from the Modern Craftsman and Cost del Sol collections introduced in October.

According to Tilley, the Signatures concept was the company's response to a growing trend which favors a more eclectic, item-by-item style of shopping. "It's designed to make the selection process more appealing and user-friendly to both designers and retailers."

"We've been extremely pleased with the initial response to Signatures," said Glenn Prillaman, Stanley Furniture's President & CEO. "When we introduced Signatures last fall, we hoped that it would help us accomplish two goals - to elevate the Stanley Furniture brand in the eyes and minds of designers, and to complement and accentuate existing displays on the retail floor. Based on the program's success to date, we feel confident that we have only just begun to accomplish those goals."
