NEW YORK, May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- S&P SmallCap 600 constituent Rock-Tenn Co. will replace Varian Inc. (NASD: VARI) in the S&P MidCap 400 index, and LSB Industries Inc. will replace Rock-Tenn in the S&P SmallCap 600 index after the close of trading on a date to be announced. Varian is being acquired by S&P 500 constituent Agilent Technologies Inc. in a deal expected to be completed soon, pending final approvals.
