Childs has been promoted to executive vice president and chief human resources officer, effective immediately. Previously, Childs was U.S. Cellular's senior vice president and chief human resources officer.

Childs joined U.S. Cellular in 2004 and today oversees all human resource-related activities, including hiring and organizational development. He is responsible for cultivating strong leaders, the first step in the company's customer-focused business model. Childs has more than 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, operations and human resources.
Childs holds a bachelor of arts degree from Ball State University and is a graduate of the University of Michigan's Global Leadership Program. He serves on the human resources and pension committees of the Chicago Metropolitan YMCA, is the incoming chairman of the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago and is a member of the board of Junior Achievement of Chicago.
