Arizona American Water's Troy Day Named President of Arizona Water Utilities Association / Day brings years of experience to leadership role

PHOENIX, June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The Water Utility Association of Arizona (WUAA) has named Troy Day the new President of the association. In this role Day will lead the non-profit which represents the investor-owned water utilities in the state of Arizona. The association has a regular membership of approximately 100 investor-owned water companies, serving from one to 350,000 customers.

The purpose of the Association is to promote regulatory policies that will promote investment, encourage conservation and protect consumers in order to ensure that Arizona has adequate supplies of safe, affordable water--as well as the infrastructure required to deliver that water to consumers.

The WUAA also strives to protect the interests of the investor-owned water companies by keeping members informed about the technical, regulatory and financial changes that affect every aspect of the private water industry.

For the past nine years, Day has held various positions with Arizona American Water from the Director of Water Quality to his current position of three years as the Vice President of Operations. Day is responsible for the delivery of safe and reliable drinking water and the collection and treatment of wastewater to all Arizona American Water customers.

Before joining Arizona American Water, Day managed numerous programs for the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, including water permits and water quality standards. He also worked as a hydrologist for the Arizona Department of Water Resources.
