AreYouInterested.com Survey Shows Daddy Doesn't Know Best When It Comes to Dating

NEW YORK, June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- In light of Father's Day on June 20th 2010, AreYouInterested.com, a top dating application on Facebook Platform with over 15 million users, polled its fans on its AreYouInterested.com Facebook Fan Page to learn about the influence fathers have on their children when it comes to dating. Overall, the results revealed that while nearly half of female respondents want to date someone like their father, for both men and women their father's opinion doesn't count for very much in their search for love.

Results show: -- 46% of female respondents said they want to date someone who is like their father. -- 65% of responders said if they were married, their husband/wife would immediately become more important to them than their father. -- 78% of respondents said they would never let their father pick out a date for them. -- 67% of male respondents would date someone even if their father disapproved of them and nearly 59% would marry someone regardless of their father's disapproval.

When asked about the results, Clifford Lerner, CEO of SNAP Interactive, Inc., said, "People look to their fathers for advice about many things in life, from careers, to finances and even friendships, however dating clearly isn't one of them."

AreYouInterested.com has more than 15 million users worldwide across all of its platforms, which include the AreYouInterested.com website, the AreYouInterested.com application on Facebook Platform and the AreYouInterested.com iPhone app for mobile dating, made by SNAP Interactive, Inc.
